Intro

I love trolling through ugly houses. I truly believe that every house could be cute in some way. Even the stupid ones. I’m probably wrong about that, but it’s a thought that makes me happy inside.

I like to dream about buying a tiny, beat up house on a little bit of land and making it glow from the inside out with charm and whimsy, not to mention that brand of comfort that makes people feel welcome and at home. In all honesty, I wouldn't know what to do with a mansion. It’s like in Monopoly, when everyone gets tons of money and you just swagger around the board paying things off. I hate that part! It’s more fun in the beginning when you ‘re buying properties and trying desperately to convince that one player to trade properties with you. When Free Parking is the stuff of dreams and every once in a while, you land on it.

But it’s confession time. I don’t know what I’m doing. I don’t own a house and am currently volunteering for a youth ministry in Northern Ireland, where I am stationed until August. So I get 200 pounds a month to live on and am provided with a room and kitchen rights in a tiny townhouse made of stone. So take me or leave me.

But I have theories and sources and a passion for making things work.

Oh and coincidentally I’m also trying to loose some weight on this budget!
